about us

Florence Production is a privately owned editorial and production company based in the beautiful Devon countryside. Founded in the early 1980s by Susan Leaper, Managing Director, Florence’s origins lie in editorial, typesetting and graphics.

Florence Production prides itself on the relationships it builds with clients. First and foremost, our desire is to not only meet a client’s expectations, but to exceed them! We do this by developing a relationship built on trust, commitment and excellent communication. This combination allows our clients to entrust even the most complex of projects to us, secure in the knowledge that their project is in the safest of hands.

Florence Production has always responded rapidly to the changing demands of the publishing sector, growing and developing in the different directions needed. And we have enthusiastically embraced all the advantages of the various technological developments.

As the requirements of the publishing industry evolved, we responded by building our project management and editorial arm to work alongside our production studio — incorporating copy-editing, proofreading and indexing with the whole process overseen by a team of editorial project managers.

Quality control is our watchword. The production and editorial teams work hand-in-hand to bring titles to completion to exceptional standards.

This seamless working together also allows the successful application of super-fast scheduling when needed, so that your own publication or contract deadlines can be met.

The team of in-house/remote staff and partners has grown and developed, taking on new technologies and practices as they have become available. We are all always prepared to go that extra mile to make sure projects are on time, on budget and of the highest quality. We also call on an extensive bank of experienced freelancers, as and when required.

Lifelong learning for both professional and personal growth is part of who we are, and both formal and informal learning and development are strongly encouraged.

If you would like to learn more about Florence or the services we offer, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via the contact page or email us directly. We will be delighted to hear from you!
